My name is Brooke. I am 18 years old. I am one of the girls that have benefited from all the fundraising, advocating, and more Milo & me do. I have been diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy. I have three different types of seizures: tonic-clonic, myoclonic, and non-epileptic seizures. My first seizure was on February 5, 2017. A few years after diagnosis, my neurologist discovered that my seizures were exercise-induced. I had to quit my favorite escape from my stressful life. Gymnastics and volleyball were gone. I am graduating high school in the class of 2023. I do not remember how I found out about Milo & me. It feels like forever ago, but I supposed I saw a post and reached out. I have been advocating for myself ever since I was in 9th grade. I want to spread awareness of seizures because of how I was treated at a public school with seizures. I also want to spread awareness of how the diagnosis can affect mental health. Some things I like to do are hiking, 4-wheeling, taking my dog on a walk, and light gymnastics.

I look forward to sharing my experience and opinions in the future!
